This year, the Second Step Players' brand of humor will be peppered with offerings composed expressly for this event by playwrights from across New England and New York as well as works by Artreach members, and will feature puppets and masks created by Dan Potter of The Mystic Paper Beasts. Artreach collaborator Kato McNickle returns to direct this production!

For the funny-bone, the evening boasts several servings of Second Step Players signature comedy. Blunder the Reindeer has had one too many on Christmas Eve and attempts to dash the hopes of Spitter, a young reindeer who dreams of pulling Santa’s Sleigh. In another offering Magic the Snowman prepares the perfect Christmas, just like in the movies. And there is a return to the popular destination Dysfunction Junction, where they are rehearsing for the town’s annual holiday pageant.

Director Kato McNickle describes the show as “an evening designed to dazzle the eye and the tickle the ear.”

Kato McNickle is a playwright, artist, and theater director living in Groton, Connecticut. Her plays have been performed throughout the United States.

Daniel Potter is founder and creator of The Mystic Paper Beasts, a Stonington based mask and puppet company that has traveled throughout the United States and Europe performing their original works.
