What we’re about

"Self-Realization Fellowship is a worldwide spiritual organization founded by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1920, with Temples, Centers, and Meditation Groups all around the world. In Savannah, we have a Meditation Circle that meets once a month for group meditation, on Sundays, in the home of an SRF member. Our services include prayer, chanting, meditation, and readings. Our services are open to anyone interested in meditating with others and in learning more about the Kriya Yoga teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda.

Yogananda came to the West to teach others how to meditate and to show that the scriptures of East and West, the Bible and Bhagavad Gita, both teach the same science of meditation and spiritual living."

Our monthly meeting begins at 10 AM beginning with a Chant, followed by 45 minutes of meditation. After a break, at 11 AM, we continue our meeting with a brief period of chanting and meditation and a series of teachings drawn from the writings and teaching of Paramahansa Yogananda.

Yogananda is the author of Autobiography of a Yogi and the topic of the documentary entitled Awake.

To attend our Circle, you do not have to be a member or join Self-Realization Fellowship.
