Thank you for joining us at Lotico the New York Semantic Web community
event last week. Than you Mike Lang Snr & Jnr and Greg from Revelytix
for presenting Emergent Analytics. It's good to learn about in
production systems that already make heavy use of W3C Semantic Web
standards in the development of cutting edge technology here in the
New York metropolitan area. I am looking forward hear more from
Revelytix soon.

You can find out more about the session & slides here:

SPARQL - Nov 4th

Our next official session will take place on November 4th and we have
Bob DuCharme come up to New York to lead an instructional session to
get you started with SPARQL - the query language for the Semantic Web.
If you plan to attend this event please be prepared to learn a lot
about the actual specification and the surrounding technologies. Bob
is an excellent speaker and educator that effortlessly bridges the gap
between academia and industry by making extensive use of real-world
examples and code sprints. You can find out more about this session

Semantic Web Summit - Linked Data in Watson

And don't forget our global community event this fall with Chris Welty
is hosted by the Semantic Web Summit in Boston. Chris will talk about
Watson the "Jeopardy" project at IBM: "Linked Data in Watson: Using
Linked Data as Evidence for Natural Language Processing". The event is
free for Lotico Semantic Web community members. Simply add your name
to the wiki here if you plan to attend this event:

FYI - A brief history of the Internet and its dynamic future - Kleinrock

I have received an invitation from Alfred Aho at Columbia University
for an event with Leonard Kleinrock tomorrow who will talk about "A
brief history of the Internet and its dynamic future" that I would
like to extend to you. I know it's a bit of a hike from downtown but
hey you can meet one of the "fathers of the internet" ... In case you
are new to the technology please be advised that the Internet here is
not the same as the Web and don't expect to hear too much about the
World Wide Web. http://www.meetup...
