What are your thoughts about the Semantic Web? Is it the next Big Thing?

Of course the Semantic Web is the Next Big Thing! So much so that programmers and designers must also begin to think ethically about the impact of what they will be creating (primarily synergistic privacy concerns).

Which new technologies would you like to learn? Have you worked with any "semantic" technologies such as XML, RDF, OWL, GRDDL, or SPARQL?

Worked with XML for a few years - mostly XSLT/XQuery. Interested in making data available and semantically intelligible. Forthcoming ontology and digital asset (database) projects.

Which applications or web sites will make the Semantic Web a reality in the public eye?

For a long time, I've been anticipating the database equivalent of old overhead projector "transparency overlays", of which there are now some true examples.
