Prepare Your Big 4 Sewing Pattern

You know your measurements, bought your great pattern accordingly, sewed it up, and it fits all wrong? Or maybe you've never sewn from a commercial pattern because it looks too complicated/ too fussy/ too delicate. Don't fret -- help is here! One of our very own fabulous Meetup members, Roseana Auten, is leading a 90-minute meetup on preparing your sewing pattern (from Vogue, Butterick, McCall's, or Simplicity). Specifically, she will cover: * What to do when your various body measurements correspond to different pattern sizes, a.k.a. blending sizes * How to make adjustments to your patterns based on your specific and unique measurements, i.e. petite, long-waisted, etc. * Handling that oh-so-delicate pattern tissue so it behaves for you on knits and wovens * Other questions you may have as time allows Be sure to bring your measurements and a pattern you would like to prepare for cutting and sewing. About Roseana: Roseana Auten is a longtime home sewer who loves to share and explore more knowledge about the craft of sewing. She owns hundreds of vintage patterns. When she's not trying to find more time to sew, she's reading about sewing, talking about sewing, and shopping about sewing.

Roseana is a great leader and is very knowledgeable about altering patterns to fit. There was a nice information sheet she prepared and one Meetup member got far enough to cut out her modified pattern pieces from muslin!
