Seneca productions are making a 3-part series with the artist Grayson Perry for Channel 4.
As part of the project Grayson Perry is making a big tapestry depicting a cross-section of British society.
They are looking for a group to represent glammed up woman dressed for an event like Ascot Races or a wedding. It should be a fun experience, you'll get to meet Grayson and he'll take some photographs and do some sketches. It'll take place on Sunday 26th of May from 2pm – 4pm in Newport Pagnell at a venue yet to be advised.
They are looking for a group to come along together, and for a variety of different and interesting looks, so they would like to see photographs in advance so they can get a feel for your look. Then the producer will be in touch concerning all the fine details.
The television series, and the artworks Grayson will be producing, will be a nationwide event of significant proportions, with a lot of publicity generated around it.
You can still view the last series Seneca made for Channel 4 on their catch-up service here:
- and if you skip down to the end of one of the episodes you can see the type of tapestries he is going to be producing for this series (although this one would be considerably bigger in scale).
The finished portraits will be displayed at a major exhibition in early 2014, first at the National Portrait Gallery in London, and thereafter the exhibition of portraits is expected tour art galleries and museums around Britain.
