HOUSE and GARDEN at The Pear

Two separate plays, two separate theaters, but ONE cast of actors/characters that travel back and forth between the theaters to appear in both plays. The wild and wacky brainchild of fabulous English playwright Alan Ayckbourn, this duet of comedies has its Regional Premiere at the Pear Avenue Theatre in Mountain View, opening Sept. 12 and running through Oct. 5. There are added performances on Saturdays so that patrons can see both plays in one day if they choose.

I recommend Saturday, September 27th-- seeing HOUSE in the 2:00 pm matinee, in the Pear's usual theatre space; then have dinner somewhere locally, like Pizzeria Venti; then return to see GARDEN at 8:00 pm in the newly-outfitted Unit H in the same warehouse building. If you can't do the 27th, or can't do both shows in one day, definitely check it out at and plan to see it during the run. If you've been to The Pear before, you know it's an awesome small theatre with big ambitions and high-quality theatre. This one promises to be a unique theatrical experience-- er, make that experiences!

P.S. You should get tickets from the website for individual shows. If you want to see both shows, email me for a two show discount! Jeanie Smith, [masked]

    HI Jeanie and Catherine:

I really wanted to go and did get a ticket for Garden. But I am so backlogged after a long illness that I didn't have the time to get ready. I may catch them in the next weeks. I saw another Aykbourne play this past summer "A Small Family Business" and was fascinated.

Hey I didn't see either of you there-- did I just miss you? did you see me? I saw House at 2 and Garden at 8-- thought they were both great. What did you think?

    Hi Jeanie,
I love The Pear. Sounds like a good idea, House, Venti, Garden on the 27th. I bought 'the whole shebang' package, so I am set for the whole season as well!!!
