LAST MINUTE MEETUP - The Drowsy Chaperone in Woodside - TOINIGHT at 8pm!

Hey Theatre Lovers!

A couple of things to report...

1) I am looking for more Assistant Organizers... if you would like to list shows yourself, let me know!

2) The deadlines for Shrek and Sunset Blvd. are coming up FAST! Please RSVP or e-mail me asap if your are interested... they should be GREAT shows!

3) The Backstage Pass Season Preview Event at CTC was a smash! Patrons really enjoyed the sneak peak scenes from upcoming shows and the informative & entertaining demonstrations by our company's artists... stay tuned - 1/2 price tix for Amelia Earhart: Flights of Fancy will be coming soon!

4) Saw West Side Story at The Orpheum the other night! The singing & dancing were AWESOME - the acting in some cases just OK - see this classic Broadway show for yourself - and tell them that Rick at CTC & Meetup sent you! To be fair I did see a Preview but as much as I LOVED the entire show - visually & musically - if that final scene doesn't rip your heart out, I can't consider the show a great success... but that's me. I've done the show, performed the songs and seen at least 10 different productions so I am pretty opinionated.

5) Please use The Message Board - when ya like a show - TELL US ALL!

6) TONIGHT - I've been wanting to see this Tony Award winning show for some time... I have no experience with this community theatre but am always willing to take the chance - especially for 1/2 price! $14 at It's also listed at

Woodside Community Theatre presents five-time Tony Award-winning musical The Drowsy Chaperone. A lonely theatre fan puts the cast album from his favorite musical on his turntable. As the overture swells, his dingy apartment is suddenly transformed into a 1928 Broadway set complete with lights, backdrops, and costumed characters. The lonely man finds himself in the center of a "musical within a comedy," complete with a starlet, her groom, a desperate producer, gangsters, a drunken chaperone and more.

I hope to hear YOUR opinions and see you at a LIVE theatre event SOON!

:0) Rick
