New Meetup: March Seasteading Social: Film on a Sail

Announcing a new Meetup for Bay Area Seasteading Socials!

What: March Seasteading Social: Film on a Sail

When: Sunday, March 14,[masked]:15 PM

Emeryville/Berkeley Marinas
2200 Powell St
Emeryville, CA 94608

[Important Note! This event is limited to the first 16 people who sign up. So please RSVP, and let us know if you plan to bring someone.]

The Captains of the Free Yacht invite members of The Seasteading Institute and their friends aboard to watch a movie, chat, have a bite and a drink, and enjoy life aboard a ship for a few lovely hours in the San Francisco Bay.

We are going to project a couple of films on to the sail, including the Ephemerisle Documentary and Waterworld.

Yes, we know Waterworld is a silly movie, but that's the point. You wouldn't want to miss out on the sunset, or hanging out with awesome seasteading folk, because the movie's too good, right?

Besides, we at TSI still haven't seen Waterworld yet, so don't spoil it for us. :)

TIMING: Please arrive between 5:15pm and 5:30pm. We'd like to embark by sunset (5:45).

You are welcome to bring food and drink, especially of a sort that's easy to manage on a boat and easy to share with others.

WARM CLOTHING is strongly recommended.

In fact, the captains say most people underestimate this recommendation and wind up shivering. So take our advice twice!

There are two marinas on the same peninsula in Emeryville. We are at the outer one.

* Take the Powell street exit off 580/80 in emeryville

* Take powell street towards the bay (west) and keep going past the park gates.

* There is a small sign for "DOCK #1, G,H,I" on the right, it is 1/10 mile from the very end of the road so you can't miss it. park anywhere near the end. the entrance walkway is right next to public restroom building.

* If you can't get in the gate, call Tim at[masked] or Kenny at[masked] and we'll come open it. we are moored between G and H dock.

Again, please RSVP -- we can only take 16 people! Privilege will be given to current TSI members in good standing.

Hope to see you on a boat!
