Hike at Morgan Territory Regional Preserve

  • Jan 20, 2013 · 11:30 AM

Hi all,
This will be about a 7+ mile moderate hike in mostly open grasslands with nice views at this beautiful and secluded place. We'll have lunch at a beautiful spot overlooking Mt. Diablo.
Supposed to be sunny and warm on Sunday.

Hike Highlights: Rolling grasslands, great views, lunch spot,  chocolates, cows and fun people ;)

Meet at the trail head parking lot at 11:30AM.

Directions:
From Highway 580 in Alameda County, exit North Livermore Avenue.
Drive north on North Livermore. After the road makes a sharp left, it becomes Manning. Shortly after, turn right onto Morgan Territory Road (at this point you'll have driven about 4 miles from 580).
Drive about 5.5 miles on narrow, winding, one-lane Morgan Territory Road, to the signed park entrance on the right side of the road
OR
From the Highway 24/680 interchange in Contra Costa County, exit Ygnacio Valley Road. Drive east on Ygnacio Valley Road about 8 miles, then turn south onto Clayton Road. Clayton Road turns into Marsh Creek Road in Clayton. Continue south on Marsh Creek Road, then turn right onto Morgan Territory Road. Drive about 9 miles (on this narrow road) to the park entrance on the left side of the road.

Use the above to get an idea and find your directions using the co-ordinates below...

Just got home- don't worry, I'll call you when I'm at the station. It's small. Either I'll find a space to park, and let you know where, or let you know where I'll pull over when I'm there. Probably the northeast corner of Diamond and Bosworth. You can text or call me when you get to the station.
