The CKCSC's (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club) National Specialty Weekend is this weekend (Oct 6-9) in San Jose. There will be health clinics (heart and eye) on Saturday October 8th, appointments start at 10 am: http://www.ckcsc.org/....

"HEALTH CLINICS

Health Clinics are offered on Saturday. All breeds are welcome. For appointments, contact Toni Wade at 360-856-2276 or tprwade@yahoo.com. Appointments can be made until Wednesday, October 4, 2011. Each clinic is $30 per dog for CKCSC members and $35 per dog for non-CKCSC members.

Heart Clinic: Offered on Saturday starting at 10 AM and conducted by Dr. Richard Kienle, Board Certified Cardiologist. No lubricant is placed on the dog. Examinations take 10 minutes per dog.

Eye Clinic: Offered on Saturday starting at 10 AM and conducted by Dr. David Lipton, Board Certified Opthalmologist. A diagnosis form will be given to you to send in for a CERF certificate. Eyes are dilated and the actual examinations take 5 - 10 minutes per dog. You should show-up 15 minutes early for your appointment to get the eyes dilated."

CKCSC strongly recommends that ALL Cavaliers be auscultated (examined with a stethoscope) by a Board Certified Veterinary Cardiologist at 2 1/2 years of age or older and annually thereafter.
