Happy Fourth of July! Join us in Half Moon Bay for Pooches on Parade!

Come out and join the people and the pooches of Half Moon Bay for "The 4th Annual Pooches on Parade". Wednesday July 4th. Dress your pup up in RED, WHITE and BLUE!!!!

The San Francisco Chihuahua Meetup is NOT the host of this event. We are guests of this fun activity for the second year in a row! Last year, we had a nice showing of 15 people and as many dogs! There were 100's of people along the parade route watching all of the people and their pups!

VERY IMPORTANT: You must per-register. It's FREE. If you wait until the day of the event, there is a $10.00. Here is the link to per-register:

Following the parade...a FREE (yes FREE) BBQ Lunch! The food is amazing and the gift bags are incredible!

Dogs of ALL sizes will be in attendance. Dogs must be on leash.

The San Francisco Chihuahua Meetup invites all members with foster dogs to join us at the barbeque to show case the adoptable dogs! Last year there were adoptions! Perhaps some little dog will be as lucky in 2012!

Attention: No vendors can show up at the event under the name of SF Chihuahua Meetup. All vendor inquiries must go through the event organizer.

We had THE BEST TIME at Half Moon Bay’s “Pooches on Parade!!!” We couldn’t have been more excited about participating in any event!!! It’s the first time we’ve ever even attended a “home town” parade. The parade had old cars – in mint condition. Lots of floats. Lots of creativity. The parade was only four blocks long. The “Pooches” section had over 350 doggies!!! From HUGE to teacup. Ginger was an angel…and “endured” sitting on her “throne” -- on her little doggy stroller -- throughout the entire event. Afterwards, the Half Moon Bay Rotary Club had arranged that ALL participants of the Pooches on Parade be invited to a FREE BBQ at a wonderful restaurant – all outdoors – and an upbeat four-piece band entertained us throughout with great songs like Jimmy Buffet’s “Margaritaville.” We were all given a super nice bag filled with doggy goodies i.e. toys, treats, kibble samples, etc.

Traffic was easy going and coming home. Ginger was happy to take off her duds.

We had a blast. This was the first parade we have ever been in. The weather was overcast but that was a real good thing for the dogs. The BBQ at Cameron's was really great and we [SF Chi Meetup] had a corner we occupied. Got to see some previously adopted chihuahuas too. I definitely want to go again next year.

Parking...I found it very close last year seemingly very cool but was actually a problem AFTER the parade because we couldn't get out. I suggest parking a few blocks away. Tiime...I am planning to arrive at around 111am.
