You could continue it on the message boards: http://gamedev.meetup.com/35/messages/boards/

That way anyone who is interested can follow it without spaming everyone (he says, spaming everyone :) )

I think this discussion is informative.

We should take the meetup email off this thread, its blasting out to everyone.  I can appreciate needing it for the inital email to try and find someone interested, but now its continuing to goto disinterested parties.

Waxing philosophical about MMO's is a bit of an eyeroller for me as well (no offense)... :-p

'This should probably go for future meetup email threads as well.  If your looking for someone for something, feel free to blast everyone, but after that be sure to take the group email off the threads.

If the group wants public threads that might be something else, but that should be tackled as a separate issue I think.

No offense Andre, but unless you have had other successful game projects in the past (correct me if you have), I wouldn't recommend taking on an MMO project. This is the most common coarse of action for those looking to start a project (everyone wants to make an MMO). The scope of these projects are far too large for most Indie teams. Take my advise as you wish, but I recommend a single player, or smaller multiplayer game. You should check Torque game engine out, I'm using TGEA and it is the best engine I could find for the money, with multiplayer server/client architecture ready to go. Unity3d is also very nice, if you can develop on Mac.

Best of luck,

Hello fellow game developers!

I'm looking for a freelance designer who wants to design a new game
project that will push boundaries of user interaction.

I'm looking to leverage social networks to build a strong audience for
a sci-fi based MMO.

Everyone that is interested in this type of role please contact me and
I'd be happy to describe more details.

Thanks
Andre
