The UU Humanist Potluck this month will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great War (World War I). Eminent historian Adam Hochschild will join us to discuss his 2011 book, "To End All Wars: A Story of Loyalty and Rebellion,[masked]".
The war of[masked] led to some 20 million military and civilian deaths, the rise of Nazism, the Russian Revolution, and another even more destructive world war. Hochschild's book reminds us of the momentous events set in motion by the mass slaughter of the First World War and stands as a rebuke to the callous acceptance of mass violence and war that is ongoing today.
The potluck will begin at 6:30. Bring something to share if you can. The presentation will begin at 7:00. We will be in the Martin Luther King room. EVERYONE IS WELCOME.
