We will continue our discussion based on the video, “Hug An Atheists”. How do those who do not believe in a supernatural god or afterlife deal with life and death? ”. In the second part of the video, atheists and humanists discuss how they deal with illness and death. How does one find meaning in life if there are no instructions from a god. Those that leave religion often loose community and even family. After the video, Millie Phillips will lead us in a discussion of our own life experiences. Millie is a member of our congregation and a graduate of Starr King School for the Ministry. As a hospital chaplain, Millie ministered to the needs of theists and non-theists alike. Don’t worry if you did not see part 1 of this video. The topics are stand alone.
We’ll start at 1:00 in the MLK room. Lunch will be available for purchase. Everyone is welcome.
