• Webinar: Learn how a Kubernetes Slackbot can help you save time troubleshooting

Learn how a Slackbot, k8sBot, can help you or your team troubleshoot Kubernetes problems with your deployment, ingress, etc. Our agent runs in your k8s cluster to gather information from the multiple Kubernetes resources necessary to diagnose a particular issue. Then, our Slack chatbot pulls out the relevant nuggets of information so you don't have to sift through lines and lines of kubectl cli output. Save troubleshooting time by gathering and analyzing relevant Kubernetes resources faster and automate your DevOps support so you have more interruption-free time. A live demo on showing how k8sbot can help you with: * Giving recommendations on the various state of a pod and why (Pending, Crashloobackoff, Evicted, etc) * Tracing a broken ingress through the services and to the pod

  • How to use Kong on Kubernetes

    425 Market St

Description: Kong is an open source, cloud native API platform that fits gracefully into the Kubernetes ecosystem. It is built on an established, low latency, open source proxy and can be deployed as a gateway to manage Ingress traffic, a service mesh to connect microservices, or both. Kong itself can be configured entirely using Kubernetes Custom Resources with the Kubernetes Ingress controller. Kong's plugin architecture allows you to specify functionality (load balancing, authentication, rate limiting, etc.) for each route and service, only incurring latency for the functionality you need. Plugins are available for Prometheus, Zipkin and other cloud native technologies. Marco Palladino will discuss Ingress and mesh deployment patterns, and demonstrate how Kong and Kubernetes work together to control north-south and east-west traffic. Bio: Marco Palladino is the co-founder and CTO of Kong. In addition to being a core maintainer, he is currently responsible for the design and delivery of Kong’s products, while also providing technical thought leadership around APIs and microservices. He was also the co-founder of Mashape, which started in 2010 and sold in 2017 as the largest API marketplace in the world.

  • Making the Jump to DevOps: What You Should Consider When Making the Switch

Speaker: Cris Madrigal Tibco's Dev Evangelist Adopting DevOps can be an intimidating idea. It tends to cause a sizable shift in your organization — not only from a technology point of view but also culturally. Oftentimes, teams start out on the wrong foot and struggle to adopt. That’s why it’s important to have a well-thought-out plan that has a flexible journey as well as a firm overall goal. DevOps, when paired together with microservices, provides a considerable advantage. In this talk, we will discuss considerations you need to think about before jumping in to the world of DevOps and microservices, and how those choices may impact your future plans. This includes aspects such as platform choice, measuring ROI, and if your team is ready for the shift. And the answers to these questions can change over time. That’s the beauty of microservices and DevOps; if you have the underlying building blocks, the changes you make internally will be much less disruptive.

  • GitOps: How to solve a thousand piece puzzle

    Connections SF

Git has become the single source of truth for applications and infrastructure code. With ‘infrastructure as code’, even servers are software and are defined in Git repositories. Every developer is doing commits or pull requests that affect both applications and infrastructure. Companies can have numerous code components and Git repositories with continuous delivery pipelines and little control over the changes. In this session, Shimon will present datree’s technology stack which includes GitHub, Node.js, Docker, Travis and dozens of services running on AWS ECS-Fargate and Serverless API-Gateway & AWS Lambda. And how they improved deployment velocity and deploy safely by using a fully automated continued deployment process.
