For June's meetup, Adam Hitchcock will tell us how Disqus does "it" when "it" isn't Django.

Over the past several years Disqus has developed what is basically the largest Django app out there. And we love it. But sometimes Django is the wrong tool for the job. In the last year Disqus has had an increasing number of non-Django services cropping up. So this talk will be about how we do continuous deployment with our emerging service-based infrastructure.

- How nginx modules + lua can replace python services.

- The python infrastructure that launched the realtime and ad services.

- And lots and lots of failures, you'll get to hear about some of those.

Speaker Bio:

Adam Hitchcook is an Engineer at Disqus focusing on their second generation ad server. He is also pretty good at coding in Python, making highly concurrent web systems, and snowboarding. He has also picked up the art of bread making and is way deep into sourdough right now.

In the last year, Adam has spoken at PyCon, EuroPython, and several smaller meetups. He also runs his own meetup on web application architecture. Check it out at
