Location visible to members
Let's face it, not every computer acts like it's supposed to. If you're a Windows user (like me), installing Ruby on Rails can be frustrating on Windows and learning Unix in one day is intimidating. Even on Linux, I still don't know the difference between yum, aptitude, and apt-get (some sort of distribution package manager thingy).
Here's the goal... getting 1-on-1 Rails installation help for anyone in this group that wants it. There's no shame in not knowing what the heck you're doing. I've received a tremendous amount of help from the open source community, and now I can share a little of that myself by getting others to the point I am now.
Installing Rails For Newbies #1 will focus on Rails and SQLite.
You should also take a look at Andrea Heilbronner's beginning RoR class, too. It's starts one day later on the 25th in the same spot (and runs for 6 weeks!)
