Silicon Valley F#: let's get things started!

F# Meetups in San Francisco have been growing steadily lately, but what about the Silicon Valley? Clearly, driving all the way from the South Bay to San Francisco in the evening is nobody's idea of a good time. So how about starting events in the South Bay?

Let's meet up at the Tied House Brewery in Mountain View, so that we can get to know each other, and have an informal discussion on what YOU would like to see happening in your neck of the woods. We have been experimenting in San Francisco with different formats, from classic presentations to hands-on workshops or coding breakfast, covering topics ranging from Machine Learning to Domain Specific Languages, GPU computing or Type Providers. We would love to bring the F# goodness to the Silicon Valley, and hear from you how we can make the community even more awesome together - so come over, and let's talk and make things happen!

// Breaking news: the first round of beers will be on our friends at Tachyus!

PS: please don't hesitate to spread the word, or bring friends :)

I didn't realize the the venue is just in the MV downtown, so I came by car and couldn't find a parking place. After 40 minutes of cruising between the venue, police administration and neighborhood I just gave up and drove back home. I hope you guys will turn this kick-off into a regular meeting so I can join you next time.

Sorry to hear about your parking misadventures! Long story short, it was a great kick-off, and the plan is to get started with F# meetings in the South Bay soon, so stay tuned, and... hope to see you next time at the first presentation!

Really wish I could attend, but Tuesday evenings are just bad for me until May. :(

Looking forward to seeing old F# friends from the S.F. meetup and new colleagues from the South Bay. I'm excited to tell you about what we are doing at Tachyus to adopt F# and Open Source F# projects in the full technology stack. Measure, analyze, produce.

What a great venue - one of my favorites. I hope they have a quite area for the talk.
