The Silex Sunset & Composer Best Practices 2018
Hi there friends of Symfony and PHP, we are very happy to have Alexander M. Turek and Nils Adermann as speaker with great topics about software we all are familiar with: Silex and Composer The meetup will be hosted by exozet in the former airport Tempelhof (see details on how to get there below). The Silex Sunset by Alexander M. Turek Silex, the micro-framework side-project of Symfony, will reach its end of life soon. However, there are still many applications out there that have been built against Silex and that need to be maintained beyond that point. A migration to Symfony appears to be the best option, so lets have a look at how the migration path could look like. Composer Best Practices by Nils Adermann Not certain you're making full use of Composer's capabilities? Overwhelmed by the number of commands, options and configuration choices? Composer has become the standard tool for Dependency Management in PHP. While we continuously work on improving Composer's usability and documentation, it covers a vast amount of functionality and use cases, and Dependency management itself remains a challenge for software development. Apart from the latest changes in Composer this session will cover details on version constraints, stabilities, semantic versioning, and the correct use of the lock file. We'll also cover helpful tips for everyday interaction with Composer, such as the right options to use during development, testing and deployment. You should already be familiar with Composer and be eager to learn more tips and tricks. Schedule 19:00 Open doors 19:30 Welcome 19:35 Introduction by exozet 19:45 The Silex Sunset by Alexander M.
