Organizers meetup

A chance for the organizers to discuss what works and what needs improvement in Shut Up & Write!

NaNoWriMo - are you participating?

Are you planning to write during National Novel Writing Month this November? If so, would you like a Shut Up and Write! meetup to write as a group? Choose a schedule that would work for you. Note: Any meetups set up this way would likely be during the daytime.

Is geography an obstacle to your attendance?

Hi Everyone, Well actually this is for those of you who joined our group but haven’t yet attended a Shut Up and Write! session. The goal of Shut Up and Write! is to provide encouragement to people who have that creative impulse, but haven’t yet started or completed the writing project they’ve been thinking about. Starting with just a few members and one weekly session, Shut Up and Write! has now grown to five weekly sessions from Berkeley to Palo Alto and nearly 570 members. We also have created the Shut Up and Write! marathon to provide a longer writing session and Shut Up and Talk! so we can talk with our fellow writers about our projects and share our strategies for success. And while we can all be proud of all we’ve accomplished, there are still many members who have not yet attended one of our weekly sessions. So we want to see what we might do to encourage you to attend. You may also email us with suggestions on how we can help you start (or finish) your writing project.

What new day/time/location can you attend a Shut Up & Write! meetup?

Hi Writers, We would like to get your input on a day, time and location for an additional Shut Up and Write! meetup in the City. Currently we are meeting on Tuesday evenings at 8 p.m. at the Crossroad’s Café in SOMA. We’ve had a great turnout with 10-15 participants every week. But I know that some of you can’t make this date/time. This is your chance to let us know what day/time would work for you. We will then schedule the additional meetup on the day/time that receives the most votes. Please also vote on a location from the list. Be sure that you select only the choices that you could commit making on a regular basis. In writing, Rennie
