How to find us

We will be in a private room in the back, so just come in and ask the host/hostess where the writing group is and they will direct you!

Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 6:00pm on Wednesday evenings.

Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.

6:00pm - quick intros.
6:15pm - timer starts: write for 1 hour.
7:15pm - (the end) chat / eat / drink / take off / keep writing. The Blarney Stone closes at 1:00am (and has really great food/drinks!)

OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING: happens at 7:15pm. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.

BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?: Whatever you need to be able to write! Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Come with your laptops pre-charged just in case.

TRAVEL / PARKING: The restaurant is right near the Fields Corner station on the red line. When you leave the station, head east towards Dorchester Ave and take a right, Blarney will be on your right. If you are driving, there is street parking and a public parking lot right next door.

GUIDELINES: The Blarney Stone has an awesome menu and delicious food/drinks. Please thank our hosts by purchasing something.

Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you at The Blarney Stone!
