What we're about

Hi and Welcome to the Shyness Workshop! The Shyness Workshop is dedicated to providing workshops of various kinds to help people who are shy or experience anxiety in public speaking or social situations, come out of their shell and develop more confidence in a supportive and fun environment of people who understand. Also, check out these affiliated meetup groups: Out of Your Shell meetup (for fun social activities) and The Toronto Shyness & Social Anxiety Support Group meetup (for a regular Saturday support group discussions).

Public Speaking: Do you have a fear of public speaking? Does the idea of giving a presentation at school or work terrify you? Do you freeze and clam up if confronted with speaking at a dinner party, a work meeting, casual classroom discussion... or anything that involves having the spotlight and attention on you? Then this group may be for you! Our regular Shellbusters Toastmasters Club that meets every Friday night provides an opportunity for you to overcome your fears of public speaking in a fun and supportive environment. In this group you will learn new skills and get plenty of public speaking practice and feedback so that you can enter those situations with confidence! We encourage you to visit our club as a guest to see what it's like.

Social Situations: Do you feel shy or experience social anxiety in social situations and want to become more confident? The Shyness Workshop aims to provide a variety of workshops to help reduce anxiety and develop confidence in social situations. Anything from formal presentations on topics such as overcoming fear and anxiety, making small talk, etc. and Improv classes, yoga classes, self-exploratory 3D collage workshops, Gestalt therapy workshops, drumming, and stage fright classes have been offered. Then of course there is Shellbusters Toastmasters Club, which has a public speaking focus, but that many have found really helpful for building confidence overall, not just in public speaking sitatuions.

I encourage you to join us for one of our Workshops and/or Shellbusters Toastmasters Club which meets every Friday!
