Hike Great Pond Mountain just north of Bucksport

Details
This is one of my favorite hikes, just a tad north of Bucksport. It is easy to mostly moderate with a 685 feet vertical gain to Great Pond summit.
The trail is mostly even but there are some roots and loose rocks in sections. Bring a hiking stick or poles. Also bring a hat, plenty to drink, and a healthy snack. Wear hiking shoes.
We will gather at the CRAIG POND NATIONAL FISH HATCHERY at 153 Hatchery Road at 9 am and then drive up Don Fish Road about a mile to the Great Pond Mountain Trailhead. The hike is an approximate 3.5 miles round trip hike which includes the Stuart Gross Trail, East Capstone Trail and the Summit Loop with great views.
The top of Great Pond Mountain has plenty of room to roam. The sights are wonderful, taking in the Penobscot Narrows Bridge, Alamoosook Lake, Craigs Pond and parts of the bay.
Sierra Club waivers must be signed at the trailhead to join this outing.
Attendees should be in good physical condition to attend this event.
