Banshee Reeks Exploration

EASY: We'll hike about 5 of the 20 miles of trail in this preserve on Goose Creek, as the leader (with anyone who wants to learn and help) runs a measuring wheel and GPS trace on the route. The result will be an entry in the next edition of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club's pocket guide to trails in northern Virginia. The average speed will be slow, with stops at landmarks to record data and take photos, but the pace between stops will be brisk. Meet at Banshee Reeks Visitor Center, 21085 The Woods Rd, Leesburg, VA. Register with the leader to get meeting time: Larry Broadwell ([masked] or[masked] between 9am & 9pm)

We waited at the visitor center until 20 after and then started the hike. The park is beautiful and the trails mostly grassy and well maintained. We will come gladly back. It's a very ticky park. You must spray yourself well and then double check for ticks when done.
