Huntley Meadows Park Hike

Location: Huntley Meadows Park, 3701 Lockheed Blvd, Alexandria Virginia 22306.
Lat/Long - 38 45' 36.57" N, -77 05' 44.13" W.
Join us for morning stroll around at one of the more interesting wetlands in the Washington area. We will talk about the importance of wetlands in the landscape and identify some common trees of the area. Hike will take place in (light) rain or shine. Meetup page will be updated with weather forecast and any last-minute changes the night before; or you may contact the leader if you have any questions.
Distance, pace, and surface: approximately 2.0 mi.; easy pace along natural trails.
What to bring: plenty of water and snacks. Wear comfortable footwear or hiking boots/shoes.
Meeting place: In the parking lot of Huntley Meadows Park. Meet at 9:45 AM to sign waiver, we leave at 10:00 AM sharp, return at 11:30 AM.
Nearest Metro: None. Carpooling: Those interested in carpooling can use the comments section on the Meetup announcement to make arrangements.
Facilities: there are restrooms in the visitors center.
Parking: there is plenty of parking at the park.
Fee: None. SCPRO appreciates a donation of $2 per person to support our many volunteer-led activities and leader training. You will be able join the hike even if you’re unable to donate.
