Viva CalleSJ - September Event

RSVP closes at 8 pm the day before meetup.

Viva CalleSJ (pronounced Vee-Va Ka-Ye SJ) is a free public event hosted by City of San Jose that closes miles of streets. It's a fun family event, not a race.

Non-unicycle guests are welcome to join us on bicycles, kick scooters, skates, skateboards, running shoes, etc. Note that city of San Jose does not allow motorized anything at this event.

Rain or shine.

TBD (somewhere in San Jose)

Suitable for advanced beginner unicyclists due to the distance and the fact that we'll be riding alongside a lot of people (cyclists, runners, walkers, kids, etc.) Be able to free mount and ride forward for a few miles. If you are brand new to unicycling but would like to join the festivities with us, come on a bicycle if you don't mind riding slow.

  • Unicycle from 24" and up, or any human-powered vehicle (no motorized vehicles)
  • Helmet is required to ride with SVUG. Other protective gear such as knee/skin guards, elbow pads, gloves, etc. is recommended
  • Although there will be hydration stations along the route, bringing your own water is recommended, especially on a hot day
  • Snacks or money for food along the way
  • Although monitored bike parking is available at activity hubs, bringing your own lock is recommended to avoid lines and delays if you wish to stop for activities

If you are under 18 years of age, you can attend this meetup only if accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian who should also sign up as a participant.
