We haven't gone contradancing in a while, so let's give this another whirl!
Country Dance NY (CDNY) (http://cdny.org) hosts a contra dance event Saturday nights in fall and spring. It is definitely an experience like no other - men in bermuda shorts, women in long flowing skirts, dancing and twirling to live fiddle music.
No experience required. All dances are taught before each dance.
No partner required. People partner up with someone new each dance.
This Saturday is a special event - the FALL FLING!
Featuring caller Adina Gordon and music by GIANT ROBOT DANCE (http://www.giantrobotdance.com):
For more details, visit http://cdny.org (http://cdny.org/)
Admission is $15, pay at the door.
Please RSVP if you are interested in attending SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 21st dance. Let's meet at 6:30p for quick bite nearby (suggestions welcome) and then head to the Beginner Workshop at 7:30p to learn the basics. Dance starts at 8:00p and runs thru 11:00p - that is, if you can last that long!
NOTE: Bring soft soled shoes that will not scuff the wooden floor and wear something loose and comfy that you can sweat in. For additional beginner dancer info, visit http://cdny.org/page/new-dancers
