So a little rain last week scared most of the babies away ?? The rain stopped & we had a blast anyway. Our day ended at around 8:30 pm.
This is the only time we will do this until maybe next Spring. The forest colors should be perfect for us.
This is a moderate 7-8 mile trek that takes us gradually up to about 1100 ft. Lot's of variety in mixed forest, ravines, redwoods, creeks, bridges, ferns, a sparkling hidden lake, an abandoned fruit orchard. (maybe some will be left for us) Great Valley of the Moon views, & more.
After our picnic lunch we will search for the huge tree. On a previous trek we had 17 people holding hands & we couldn't get all the way around it.
Then it's all down hill from there.(The trail ) not the day's fun.
Hopefully by 4:00pm. we will return & have our yummy wine & chocolate tasting experience. Don't miss this. At 5;00 pm. the dinner option at Yetti's will commence. We will be at a beautiful & serene location overlooking Sonoma creek.
The last time out here we had 20 seated for dinner. Super delicious & fresh food & not expensive.
So don't RSVP unless you are really committed.
Included will be: Water, juice, Tea, Coffee, Soda, trail bars, Snacks, Energy & Protein drinks, new improved gourmet fruit & nut packs, hiking poles, car shuttles, & Wine.
Have shoes with good tread & layered clothes. It may be cool in the am & get warm later.
Dogs are ok on this hike.
Note: We meet in the North lot by the water wheel & footbridge at JLV.
