Paul McCartney!

So okay, you Sir Paul fans and those of you that want to see a real Beatle. Buy your ticket for the Seattle performance of his Out There Tour and plan on joining us on the ferry ride across, dinner in Seattle before and ferry ride home. The plans are a bit dodgy at this point but will clarify as we get closer to the date. I am guessing we will meet to catch the 4:20 ferry to Seattle, have dinner, attend the 8 pm concert. There is a 10:30 ferry back but making that seems tight and the next is at 12:50.

The best money I've spent in a long time. I should have sorted out return path better, but we made it and the weather even really cooperated. Rock on!

I like that idea! Dawdle, dawdle, dawdle.

And either the Vashon option or driving around suits me. Since I'm not a driver, I'll let you two decide about driving or not.

Good point. Maybe the transportation connections will provide the dawdling.

I'm fine with that kind of dawdling.

Like the 5:05 Vashon or driving option-Why not dawdle in Seattle a while afterwards?

Taxi fare estimator is <$20, so not a bad option. Do taxis hover outside after events?

    July 16, 2013

    • Dorothy

And $20 split three ways seems very nice.

I would like to try this option. Don't want to leave the concert early just to make connections. Although I did search the trip planner again with a start time of 10:30 and there is a 10:59 but that would get us to the ferry in time. I like the taxi better. Not much more expensive if it's split 3 ways and much more convenient. I live a couple miles from the ferry so we could meet at my place and only take one car to the ferry.

Came up with a good schedule going over. 5:05 ferry to Vashon, 5:58 water taxi to downtown arriging at 6:20. Can't make it work coming back though. Water taxi doesn't run that late and the bus schedule gets there after the 11:40 ferry leaves. Bummer.

Turns out my +1 has other plans for getting there so I'm on my own now. Thinking of taking the 5:50 Southworth ferry over and the 11:40 back. Never taken the buses so might bite the extra expense of taking a car over.

So, seems like time to settle plans. It sounds like Megan plus one are finding their own way there and eating at the concert.
It sounds like Mike and I want to have a pre-concert eating time/place.
But what about getting there? Mike, do you want to meet at the 4:20 Bremerton ferry to Seattle or something else? Committing to the Bremerton ferry opens us up to the possibility of that loooooong ferry wait if the 10:30 is missed (next being 12:50). Another option is the Southworth ferry and rapid ride C, a bit more complicated but return ferries are at 11:40 and 12:55. Or 'we' could throw caution to the wind and drive around. You drive and I pay for event parking? Other options? What is your preference? They all sound fun to me.
And, Megan plus one and Mike, do you want to meet afterwards for a drink and chat, enjoying the afterglow? I suspect this is a more useful question after everybody figures out how they are getting to and from Seattle.
    Soooooooooo excited.

I think I can take off early as long as it's something important, like eating.

Dorothy, I am going with a non-Boomer friend and not sure what our plans are, but will likely eat at the concert to save time.

I am so excited! However, when I was suggesting the 4:20 ferry and dinner in Seattle I was totally spacing that I'm probably the only non-working force person. And since we are all Port Orchardites we could choose to do this differently anyway. Ideas?

I am not going, but if you park in Bainbridge and take the Bainbridge ferry, there are a lot more choices in ferry times and it if faster. So if you miss the 10:30 Bremerton ferry there is a 11:15 Bainbridge ferry. I missed the 10:30 ferry once and had to wait 21/2 hours for the Bremerton ferry. not worth it.

Thanks for your thoughts, Maureen. I thought we would wait until July, see who is going, and see what is most convenient. There is also the rapid ride C and the Southworth ferry if we are all from Port Orchard. Or one car driving and parking. Or maybe sitting in the afterglow reminiscing and waiting for the next Bremerton ferry. So many options.

There are many tickets still available -- but through the secondary buyers. Sigh. Everybody gets their cut.

    Got my ticket.

She loves you, ya, ya...LOL Sound familiar. I just checked the Safeco Field website and there are only about 30 tickets left priced around $70.
