About Us: We are a group aimed at singles, aged 50* or better who enjoy getting together for various socializing activities. These could be meals, movies, sailing, day trips, it's up to YOU! We are centered in the Lake Washington area, including Seattle, Bellevue, Shoreline, Renton and more. This is an activity co-op, depending on members to bring together the type of activities YOU want in locations that work for YOU. (I mean after all, if one person's idea of fun was bungee jumping, and another’s was watching the Star Wars trilogy, would you really want either to determine ALL the activities for everyone, or to limit those activities only to times when they could attend?) This is not intended to be a web based dating service, but rather a socializing group where people can get to meet and know others with common interests, and to have FUN! What happens on a personal level is up to the individuals ;-)

Maintaining your membership is easy! All you need to do is actively participate in (host) at least one event every 6 months (extensions allowed if you have been able to attend only a few, or no events during your membership period.) This is the activity co-op part! This means you have an acceptable event** placed on the calendar, and act as the contact person at that event. There is no cost requirement associated with being a sponsor. And it doesn't need to take a lot of time. Besides the time attending the event, it takes me about 20 minutes each for the majority of events, including the Monthly General Meetings. To get your event scheduled, click on 'Schedule a new Meetup' here http://www.meetup.com/singles-622/

We hope you are excited about joining us, and we want everyone to feel good about taking part in our group. So we hope that you can make it when you RSVP with a Yes. We understand that sometimes things come up at the last minute, but please try to update your RSVP--especially if it's for an event with a limited capacity and others are waiting to get in. Think of us as your future friends, because you never know. :)

*NOTE: 50 is an “aiming point” used to represent a certain level of maturity, life experience and interests. It is not a restriction. I’ve known 30 somethings that were more mature than some 60 somethings I’ve known. After all, it’s just a number! :-)

**Event - an acceptable activity, opened to our group, having a limit of no less than 8, which is fully scheduled (including all required information) no less than 1 week prior to the event. An "acceptable" event is one that members would be reasonable expected to want to attend. A "Septic Tank Cleaning Party" would not be "acceptable".
