For those that are new, we will occasionally do an event in the Heights 😀😉😉😀. Ok,,Ok ,,,our regular readers will keep me honest. As our regulars know ,,,,,we do A LOT of events in the Heights area. But, it's not due to being "in a rut" be any means ! It's simply due to the fact that there are so many fun things to do in a location that is central to almost everything. And one of the biggest events we participate in each year is ,,,,✨🥼🍸 WHITE LINEN NIGHT !!!

For those who are new to Houston, the month of August kicks off with a MASSIVE BLOCK PARTY in the Heights - White Linen Night (the largest community social event of the year in the Heights).

Over the first weekend of August, streets are blocked off and there is a community wide celebration involving local merchants, live music, lots of art and other entertainment. Originating from a centuries old tradition in New Orleans - the party was brought to Houston by New Orleans' transplants in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Why do they wear all white, you ask ?? It's not to be genteel, it's far more practical - they wore all white simply because it was so darn hot.

So, our "preplanned spontaneity" for this event is as follows:

From 8ish til 11ish - We'll be enjoying the festivities at one of our usual favs - Heights Bier Garten. Where we're talkin':

* CONTESTS & PHOTO BOOTHS (Wearing white is encouraged but not required ,,,,we're in the no judgement zone here 🙂).

* AND ,,,BEST OF ALL ,,,,ALL OF THIS ENJOYED FROM RESERVED TABLES IN THEIR SHADED COCKTAIL BAR AREA 🧊🧊 (so ,,no "sweatin' to the oldies"). Then ,,,,
