What we’re about
Sisterhood: We are stronger together, so let's work on our community bonds!
“Sistas Rebuilding Sisterhood” is an intergenerational group of Black women who come together for relaxed and non-judgmental online gatherings to exchange ideas, experiences and collaborate in a collective effort to improve the quality of sisterhood interactions in our day to day lives.
Together, we address contemporary challenges faced in female friendships, family dynamics, and community relationships.
**Recent Monthly Discussion Topics:**
- What our Grandmothers and Great-Grandmothers got right and what they got wrong
- Healing after being hurt by one or few of the Sisterhood
- Reflections: What Advice Would You Offer Your Younger Self?
- Navigating Microaggressions in Our Interactions
- The Impact of Social Media on Perceptions of Healthy Sisterhood Bonds
Password to online gatherings will be emailed to attendees on the day of the event.

Due to a significant increase in organizer subscription fees on Meetup.com, our Sistas Rebuilding Sisterhood Meetup groups will fully transition to: [https://conversationsincolor.org/sistasrebuildingsisterhood](https://conversationsincolor.org/sistasrebuildingsisterhood) on March 1, 2025, leading to the closure of these Meetup.com groups.
The new community platform is free to join and gives the Sisterhood more options to connect and discuss topics in between our monthly virtual chats. You can create discussion threads for everyone to participate in, post about local in-person gatherings, and more. Don’t hesitate to share any additional features you think we should consider adding! ***(you can start using the discussion threads now if you like)
If you prefer to connect only with the monthly virtual chats, you still can use the options below:
- Sign up for the Sistas Rebuilding Sisterhood email list and you will be sent the meeting information each month: [https://dashboard.mailerlite.com/forms/1120839/134641808387868609/share](https://dashboard.mailerlite.com/forms/1120839/134641808387868609/share)
- The meetings will still be posted on Eventbrite as well: [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sistas-rebuilding-sisterhood-tickets-549719565017](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sistas-rebuilding-sisterhood-tickets-549719565017)

Several months ago, Meetup.com was restructured under the new ownership of BendingSpoons.com. This change resulted in a significant increase in organizer subscription fees, which have now doubled. My desire has always been to keep this space for us to come together and talk ABSOLUTELY FREE. So, I set out to find an alternative platform that would allow us to continue our discussions and expand the Sisterhood along with providing us a few additional features.
On March 1, 2025, Sistas Rebuilding Sisterhood will fully migrate to the new platform, leading to the closure of these Meetup.com groups.
On that date, the Sisterhood will have three methods to stay connected and join our monthly conversations.- Sistas Rebuilding Sisterhood community space - a dedicated space with event postings, discussion forums, articles and more to come as it grows: https://conversationsincolor.org/sistasrebuildingsisterhood
- Sign up for the Sistas Rebuilding Sisterhood email list and you will be sent the meeting information each month: https://dashboard.mailerlite.com/forms/1120839/134641808387868609/share
- The meetings will still be posted on Eventbrite as well: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sistas-rebuilding-sisterhood-tickets-549719565017
In addition, please feel free to look around the new community and let me know what features you would like to see added that would be of benefit to our Sisterhood: https://conversationsincolor.org/sistasrebuildingsisterhood
Always in Sisterhood,
