literature & writing: words words words (intro)

what we are doing:
This will be a fun but intensive class aimed at people who love the written word and enjoy exploring creative imaginative ways to develop new word-based projects.
You will be guided through various short and diverse creative writing tasks and you will be able to build on the ideas that come out of the tasks as the class unfolds.
As part of the process you will be guided through the development of a micro story of your own to gain experience in working with some of the most important aspects of any story.

You can then have to opportunity to join the next step: more words class!

what you will learn:

  • how to explore, play with, and test new ideas
  • how to explore conventional and un-conventional ways to find ideas.
  • how to recognise the most important components of any story.
  • how diverse and exciting is our English language and the words within it!

A great short summary on how to write stories, as well as examining the meaning and interpretation of words and how important they function in creating character. Also a good introduction to reading different novels.
