Thanks to everyone who came today -- and a special thanks to Douglas Tomm for giving a great talk supported by answering a million questions!
A few updates from the meeting that is relevant to everyone:
1. We will moving our regular meetings to Palo Alto as we can secure a better facility and accommodate pretty much as many people as want. We have grown quite a bit in membership in the last 6 months, so we need the space! We are also open to companies wanting to host events.
2. We are looking for speakers. This is a great chance to sell yourself or look for someone to join you if you are working on a project.
3. We have created a LAMP Interesting Group on LinkedIn. This allows more professional networking (jobs, startup offers, consulting offers, etc..). To join, go to Linkedin.com. After logging in, click on Groups. Then search for "lamp interest group" with my name (Kapil). Then join! Going forward we will be allowing job posts, discussions, etc.. on there.
4. Finally, we will be combining the PHP and Silicon Valley LAMP groups over the next few months. There is a lot of overlap in content and members.
