Thanks to those who donated to help wildlife in Gatlinburg. We raised $150 for Appalachian Bear Rescue.

We're collecting items for people in Gatlinburg who have lost their homes due the wildfires. CJ will be taking them to the University of Tennessee.
They've asked for water, Gatorade, baby wipes, and clothes: hats, coats, gloves.
If you would like to donate, please bring the items to the Tri-State Freethinker's monthly meeting or Game Night this Friday.

Urban Artifact has tasty beers. Brewed on site. Happy hour beer prices. Limited food.

So ixnay on the Harambe questions then?

Correct Cliff. Hopefully you are just joking about the Harambe comments.
ANY comment made about Harambe will not be appropriate in my opinion. My sister in law works for the zoo. Believe me, they are devastated about what happened.

I think someone might ask about it, no matter what we do, but I truly hope it's not one of us.

Last time Thane came to Science Cafe, I was curious and asked about a young giraffe that died at the zoo. He became very emotional and I could tell that he took animal welfare very seriously. Having that perspective on his character has made me very compassionate about this entire situation. People suck sometimes. (Not you Cliff. I know you were joking.)
