SHARON HILL is a geologist and author of the Doubtful News (http://doubtfulnews.com/) blog about science and pseudoscience aimed at the public. She explores the intersection of science and public understanding as a student in the Science and the Public Ed.M. graduate program (http://gse.buffalo.edu/online/science) at the State University of New York at Buffalo (a joint initiative with the Center For Inquiry (http://www.centerforinquiry.net/)).
She is also the editor of Doubtful News:
Sharon will be in town earlier that day to do a workshop at JREF HQ in Hollywood, CA.:
I Doubt That: The Media Guide to Skepticism (https://www.facebook.com/events/116812371857931/)
The special talk and donor dinner with Richard Dawkins at The Center for Inquiry has been cancelled.
The down side: it would have been fun to see Dr. Dawkins again so soon.
The up side: We have the CFI parking lot back!
The Meetup would like to promise that there will be no more changes and that we won't continually fill your inbox with these messages - but since we don't seem to be able to predict the future, we'll just say it sounds like a nice plan and hope to see you at Palermo's.
The SkeptiDinner is still scheduled for 5:30, more fun with Sharon!
There is also parking at the restaurant, public parking lots on the side streets crossing Vermont Avenue, and excellent public transportation. A Metro Rail Red Line station is at Sunset and Vermont.
JREF (http://www.randi.org/site/) is happy to be a cosponsor of this Meetup SkeptiDinner with Sharon Hill.
Thanks to CFI-Los Angeles (http://www.cfiwest.org/) for providing free additional parking.
