Another new and different Meetup! I was happy to get us access to the Rubin, which is an amazing collection of Asian art. But we're going to have a slightly different format for the event. We'll meet up in the lobby at 11:00, each person buys their own ticket, and then after an introduction we'll spread throughout the museum. People can stick together in pairs or groups or go off by their own, but we won't all be in the same gallery. Honestly, we will probably end up filling up the museum. I encourage everyone to mingle and ask people about their work. You can use the next 2 hours to work on one great sketch, or do dozens, up to you. There's no space to break and share our art, so at 1:00 we'll meet back at the cafe and get lunch while we look at the art of anyone who wants to share it. (Here is the cafe menu: http://www.rmanyc.org/uploads/documents/Serai%20menu%20-%20Summer.pdf )
Admission to the museum is $10. Seniors and students are $5. Dry media only.
Here are directions: http://www.rmanyc.org/pages/load/51 . Any problems on the day of the event, I can be reached at[masked]-9816.
What makes our Meetups different from other art groups and classes? There's no instruction, but we like to share our work, and chat and be inspired. Share tips and learn from people in a casual environment where all levels of artists are welcome!
Dry media only! Pencils, charcoal, ipads, but NO pens or paints. Sorry.
We hand out nametags so everyone can meet one another!
We take photos to share on the site later. Bring your camera!
The event will last ~3 hours.
Everyone at all skill levels is welcome!
Looking forward to sketching with you!
