Ken Ohlinger is the Campus Executive Chef at the University of Utah, where he combines fine‑dining expertise with a commitment to sustainable campus dining. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, he honed his craft in acclaimed kitchens across the U.S. and Europe, including Blackberry Farm in Tennessee, Lake Placid Lodge in New York, and the Residenz of Heinz Winkler in Germany.

Before joining the university in 2022, he spent more than a decade as Executive Chef at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, overseeing menu development, staff training, and media appearances.

At the University of Utah, Ken has become a leader in sustainability and innovation. He champions local sourcing, humane food procurement, and creative waste‑reduction practices, turning scraps into stocks, sauces, and even beverages. His approach blends artistry with operational efficiency, ensuring that campus dining reflects both environmental responsibility and culinary excellence. Recognized for his mentorship and community‑focused leadership, Ohlinger continues to shape Utah’s dining culture with a vision that balances tradition, creativity, and stewardship.
