Speaker: Alan M. Shafer, President & CEO of Alliant Marketing Solutions LLC
A Coffee Club favorite, Mr. Shafer has over 25 years of experience in high-tech sales and marketing. Alan’s IBM career took him from being #1 Sales Representative in the country (out of 8,500 sales professionals) to being the Director of Marketing and Chief Merchandising Executive for IBM's Personal Computer division. In between these positions, Alan was instrumental in revitalizing and restructuring IBM’s Sales School as Manager of Sales Training, creating IBM’s renowned “Eagle” Top Performers Sales category, and as National Sales Manager for IBM’s Consumer Division.
He was responsible for a number of key marketing campaigns including the introduction of the IBM ThinkPad and IBM Aptiva products into the North American retail market, as well as the establishment of IBM’s Consumer Division generating $2.3 billion in revenue within three years of operations. He established many valuable relationships with the retail, reseller, and distribution communities, and produced extremely profitable results during his tenure at IBM, and later as Chief Executive Officer of Alliant Marketing Solutions, a sales and management consulting consortium helping to bring new companies and products to market, with which he is associated to this day.
