Tired of playing the same chords and strums a billion times?

This class is on-going. You can drop in or out at anytime.

This class is for advanced beginners to intermediate players who feel “stuck” at a certain level in their ukulele playing and want learn more.

The goal of this class is help elevate your playing from “happy-go-lucky strumming” to a higher level of musicianship. It is not a beginner class.

The focus of this class will be learning fun challenging intermediate level songs from a number of musical styles. We will emphasize technique and execution and learn how to get songs “gig ready” for performance.

Song choices will be influenced by input from the class attendees.

>>>Level: Advanced beginner/Intermediate

Prerequisite: Everyone welcome. If you have NEVER played ukulele we recommend
taking the QuickStart 101 three session first.
What is the difference between Dolphin Class and Tiki Class?

Tiki Class is an intermediate level class designed to elevate the Sneaky Tiki Meetup. We introduce new Sneaky Tiki songs, review and improve old and forgotten Tiki songs. “Fun Bits” are demonstrated and a “Cheat Sheet” is provided so Tikis can practice for the Meetup. Tiki Class is fast paced. We often review 3 or more songs in an hour.

Dolphin Class is an intermediate level class where we “deep dive” into intermediate level tunes with an emphasis on technique and execution of chord choices, strums, song dynamics and getting tune performance ready. New songs will be introduced at a pace appropriate for the class participants. Dolphin attendees get a higher level of individual attention than they would in Tiki Class.

What songs will we learn in Dolphin Class?

Dolphin Class is structured to help you get “Out Of Your Ukulele Comfort Zone” and learn new techniques and tricks that you can apply your current ukulele repertoire. We will be learning everything from swing, jazz, pop tunes, classic rock, bossa nova, blues...etc. Tunes selection will be influenced by the Dolphin Class participants.

As an example: our first Dolphin Class started with “Is You Is, or Is You Ain’t My Baby”; a classic swing tune by Louis Jordan. See a youtube of the song

What if I miss a Dolphin Class? Will I be to far behind?

Dolphin Class is on-going. You can come when you can make it. You might miss outon the teaching for a specific piece, but you will be able to get the hand-outs and we will review tunes as we progress.

The idea is to keep learning. If you are passionate about a specific song and you have to miss class you can always take a private lesson and get up-to-speed with the class.
