What we're about

The Socal Makers Making Change meetup group connects people with disabilities, assistive technology professionals (occupational therapists, assistive technology practioners) and Makers, volunteers with technical skills, to build more affordable, open source assistive technologies for people in need in the greater Los Angeles area.

The group is open to anyone that wants to learn more about assistive technology and making, wants to help other people learn the skills to make open source assistive technologies or needs an assistive technology made for themselves or someone they know.

The meetups are a chance to hear presentations on what open source assistive technologies are, how they might be relevant to you or someone your know and basic making skills. It will also provide an opportunity to meet and interact with people with disabilities that have a need, assistive technology professionals that recommend assistive technologies and makers that have the skills and tools to make open source assistive technologies.
