Hi All,

Just wanted to spread the word that PyLadies will be hosting a Hackathon this Saturday, 4/21 at DreamHost HQ in Downtown. It's open to everyone. The only requirement is that you should be working somehow using Python. :)
Tickets are required which can be obtained here:

It's PyLadies Hackathon time! This event is open to anyone that wants to start or work on their own Python projects, find help or collaborators to an existing project. Bring your laptop and your desire to program!

All experience levels are welcome. Beginners can get help if they are still working through "Learn Python the Hard Way" or something similar. Programmers can work in a programmer-friendly environment and get extra eyes on a bug they are trying to tackle. There will also be lightning talks so please don't hesitate to show off something you've learned or used.

$15 includes coffee, lunch, drinks/sodas, and all-day hacking.

9:30-10am Registration, meet-and-greet, coffee.

10am-12:30pm Coding time: break out into the project room of your choice and start coding.

12:30-1:15pm Lunch. Go around the room discussing progress and goals for the afternoon.

1:15-2pm Lightning talks.

2-6pm More coding!

6pm + Socializing at a nearby bar/restaurant in Downtown LA!

Code of Conduct

All participants are expected to come with laptops, ready to work on their own coding projects.  This is an event for programmers and people learning to program.

This is not a networking event.  If you come purely to recruit/bother developers who are trying to focus on programming, you will be asked to leave.

Let's keep this a productive, distraction-free environment for attendees who want to code. We are also dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. Anyone acting inappropriately will be warned and/or asked to leave.

Parking and Public Transportation

There is parking available at nearby paid lots starting around $6 per day. Carpooling and taking public transportation is encouraged, there is a Metro stop around the corner at 7st Street / Metro Center.

Email christine (at) for more details!  Hope to see you there!
