Hi Everyone,

Our friend Jim Taylor has invited our SoCal Singles members to a terrific event at the Irvine Improv. Jim always brings Top Headline comedians to his events.

As a member of So Cal Singles, we have arranged FREE TICKETS for you and your friends.

I do have free tickets to this show. Just RSVP here! If your Meet Up name is not your full name please email me at [masked] with

Full Name:

and they will be waiting for you at the Irvine Improv box office.
If you email me, I will email you back a confirmation.

I will be in the patio bar from 6:00 to 7:30. If you are coming alone and don't know anybody please call or text me when you get there and I will introduce you to the people I know.

My cell is[masked].

Doors open at 7:30 - Show starts at 8:00

The Irvine Improv does have a 2 item minimum purchase requirement.

Please note our comic lineup for this event is usually posted here about 10-14 days prior to the event. Jim always has top comedy talent that you have seen on TV, major clubs, Las Vegas showrooms and cruise ships. The line up will be listed here soon.

I have been getting a few questions about the monthly meet up at the Irvine Improv so I thought I would address them here. The show starts at 8:00 PM and is over at 9:30 PM.

"I don't want to come by myself"

From 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM I am in the patio bar next to the box office. Some people meet there ahead of time and go into the Improv together. I also try and introduce people the best I can. You can call or text me at[masked].

"Is there a reserved section in the club for Meet Up?"

There used to be, but if you have been around Meet Up for a while you know as many as 50 percent of the people who RSVP don't actually come. That is hard on the venues because they like to seat front to back, and wind up with empty seats all around the middle. So now if members want to sit together they have to enter the club together.

"Are the tickets really free?"

The admission fee is waived if you are on the list the box office has up front. I compile the names of everyone who RSVP's here or emails me directly. That goes into a spreadsheet that I provide to the box office. When you arrive you give them your name, and they hand you a ticket for you and your guests.

"What is the 2 item minimum?"

The Improv has a requirement that everyone purchase at least two items from their menu. They can be soft drinks all the way to full entrees. They also have this requirement on their weekend premium shows as well.

"Is the show dirty?"

The comics performing at these shows tend to avoid dropping F-Bombs and going to extremes. They are notified in advance of the demographic, and that the audience is typically not fond of that sort of comedy and they act accordingly. Every now and then somebody doesn't get the memo, but that is rare. We try to be Funny not Filthy, Risqué not Raunchy.

"When is the latest I can RSVP?"

I would prefer that after 5:00 PM on the day of the show you call, or text me. There is a lot of prep work involved and I usually am not monitoring Meet Up that late before a show. That said, I can get your names on the list right up until about 7:30. After that I have to go inside and prep the comics.

I have been doing this show at the Improv for almost 5 years now, with[masked] people attending, and usually about 25 percent are Meet Up members. I am not allowed to advertise free tickets, but I am allowed to offer them to Meet Up members, and people on my own email lists. Not everyone gets in free :-)

I hope you can make the next show

Jim Taylor
