It was good to talk to companies and meet other developers.

I had low expectations. However, the recruiting companies were very earnest, very active. Prove Inc was notable.

what does it mean to "bring your working code"?

    April 9, 2013

    • Michael L.

Bring any code you have working, perhaps an app or something, it is not essential as many engineers worked on things they can't publicly display.

    Thanks !
    Arnaud.

    April 10, 2013

    • Michael L.

Many of the companies have internships, and part time, contract, positions available as well.

Is there a list available of the employers that will be present on Thursday? If not, will someone please post that list? Thank you.

Is this job fair strictly for programmers? Can others who work in product and design in tech attend as well?

    April 17, 2013

    • Michael L.

Many of the positions available at these companies include product and design as well, so the recruiters in attendance very well might be able to help you with UI / Product positions as well as programming positions.

    "Getting Here
    1) Take public transportation? Easy. We’re located right above the Powell Street BART and Muni station.
    2) Need to park your car? Check out the Yerba Buena Parking Garage that’s only a block away: http://www.fifthandmission.com/home.htm (up to $32/24hours).
Or want a better rate for a longer walk? Check out this garage at Turk and Taylor for only $10/day with in and out privileges http://www.sfparkinggarage.com/rates.
    3) Going green and riding a bike? There’s no bike parking in the building but you can definitely lock your bike right outside the front door near the lobby and you’re all set!"

Because of a surgery that went bad with my Mother, I had to rush to the hospital out of state, this was not intended. After losing my Father to cancer last year, I really can't face losing my mother also. This event will be happening but April 11, please forgive me, and expect an update on employers who paid and will be attending soon. We are also still having the virtual job fair and adding new employers right now. Expect a group email addressing this and other concerns shortly.

Sorry for your lost. Hope for fast and full recovery for your mother. Michael, if you need help with setting up the event, give me a yell.
