  • Explore exotic paradise Bali, and the stunning neighbouring island of Lombok on this 2-week trip to Indonesia. Walk through the rice terraces of Ubud, watch a sunrise on Mount Batur and snorkel around the island of Menjangan, where you are likely to swim amongst sea turtles and other exotic coral and fish. Fly over to the laid-back island of Lombok, home to the magnificent Gunung Rinjani, one of Indonesia's largest volcanoes, and explore what this incredible place has to offer.     Depart UK - 14th April 2017

    15th April - Day 1 - Arrive Bali – Transfer to Kuta 

    Upon arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport with your preferred international flight, you will be met and greeted by our guide who will assist you to the car. Upon arrival at the hotel, continue with the normal check-in procedures. The rest of the day is at your leisure. 

    Day 2 - Kuta – Heart of Bali – Pemuteran (B,L) 

    Breakfast is at the hotel. This fascinating full day “Heart of Bali” tour will take you to the highlands of Bedugul, with several visits en route. The morning drive will bring you to the Tabanan market, where you will find various products at good prices. Drive further up to Pura Luhur Batukaru, built in the 11th century and dedicated to the ancestors of the Kings of Tabanan, and believed to be the temple that protects Bali from evil spirits. You will have lunch facing the rice terraces in the local restaurant with their magnificent view spread before you, shadowed by the majestic Batukaru Mountain in the north. The next stop is Angseri hot spring, the natural volcanic hot spring located in the foot of Mount Batukaru. Afterwards, we are going to Bedugul to visit one of Bali’s marine temples, Ulun Danu Beratan. Then we will take a visit to Bali Botanical Gardens before continuing the drive to Pemuteran for check in to your hotel. 

    Day 3 - Pemuteran – Snorkelling at Menjangan Island 

    Depart in the morning at 08.00 am. Starting from the spot with local motorized boat for 45 minutes trip to cross the strait to the “deer” island (literal meaning of Menjangan). This is the perfect time to jump in the water and see the abundance of marine life in this colourful wall of coral. Take a stroll to circle half of the island and you will see the gigantic Ganesha statue at the other side. Return to the hotel with the afternoon free. 

    Day 4 - Pemuteran – Free at Leisure (B) 

    Breakfast is at the hotel. Free day relax and leisure at the resort or enjoy optional tours. 

    Day 5 - Pemuteran – Ubud (B) 

    After breakfast depart to Ubud via north east of Bali, first visit will be made at Banjar Hot Springs. Next stop will be Beji Temple a temple which is used to venerate Goddess Sri that looks after the rice field. Then we drive along the way to Kintamani and make a visit to Besakih temple, the biggest Hindu temple in Bali. Afterwards continue the route directly to Ubud for check in to your hotel. 

    Day 6 - Ubud – Pure Ubud (B,L) 

    The journey begins with an approx. 08.30 am pick up from your hotel in Ubud and head straight to the beautiful Bali Bird Park to discover the beauty of hundreds of species of birds from all around the world. Next, we stop at Batuan Village and explore Pura Desa Batuan, considered as one of the finest and oldest temples in Bali. From here we continue to Ubud a take a short walk in the rice fields leading to Sari Organic restaurant for a uniquely healthy lunch experience. Afterwards, indulge yourself and stroll around at the Ubud market. Then drive to Goa Gajah or Elephant Cave, an interesting temple which was used a long time ago by the Brahman priest and ascetics for meditation, which dates back at least the 11th Century. It is time to drive back to your hotel with one last stop at Pura Penataran Sasih, situated in nearby Pejeng which is a charming temple containing the largest bronze kettle drum in the world. 

    Day 7 - Ubud – Exploring Sidemen (B,L) 

    Off the beaten track, get an authentic and relaxing taste of Bali, as we go for a walk for about 2h or more in Sidemen Valley. Still ignored from tourists, the valley offer enchanting landscapes and the feeling of having it for your own. Along the path, you’ll meet the farmers working in the field and get to understand their everyday life. It seems that nothing has changed here for ages as we discover the traditional daily activities of the countryside. We discover the exotic plantations and their use in Balinese culture and food. While exploring the valley, our guide will explain to you the Subak system, as a manifestation of the Tri Hita Karana philosophies, bringing together the realms of the spirit, the human world and nature. This cooperative social system controls the water and is part of the UNESCO list. When the weather is clear, you have a stunning view over the Agung Volcano, sacred symbol and highest point of Bali, dominating the surrounding areas. We will cross 2 rivers and come close to a natural swimming pool where you can refresh yourself swimming, or just enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.
    At the end of the walk, we offer a Balinese picnic in the very heart of nature. A sweet break to discover the traditional Balinese dishes in a very special and charming place.
    (We have showers available in the property if you want to take a shower after then, soap and towels not included). Note: At the beginning of the walk, we provide a hat and a bamboo stick (to be returned at the end). We will bring water bottles to be given on the way. 

    Day 8 - Ubud – Free at Leisure (B) 

    Breakfast is at the hotel. Free day relax and leisure at the resort or enjoy optional tours. 

    Day 9 - Ubud – Sunrise Mt. Batur Trekking (B) 

    In the very early in the morning, around 02.00 AM you will be picked up at hotel’s lobby, you will depart to Kintamani to do the Mount Batur trekking to witness the spectacular sunrise from the east horizon. After two hours of light to moderate climbing, you will arrive on the summit of Batur just in time to see the event.
    After enjoying the sunrise with a local breakfast and Bali coffee, the trip will continue and explore nearby craters that were created in 1804 and 1849. You can also walk through a holy cave that is still used by spiritual worshippers as a meditation area.
    Heading south and then turning west through a small pathway on the southern slopes, the trip will continue to a hotsulfured steam summit area. Climbing up a little bit more to the west, you will find “The Land of The Moon” - an area where the surface of the land is similar to the moon’s surface. Light lunch will be provided. Then back to your hotel in Ubud. 

    Day 10 - Transfer to Domestic Airport – Fly to Lombok – Transfer to Hotel (B) 

    After breakfast check out of hotel for your transfer to the Airport to catch your flight to Lombok. Arrival in Lombok, transfer to your hotel in Sengiggi. Rest of the day is rest and relax. 

    Day 11 - Lombok – North Lombok Exploration (B, L) 

    Stand at more than 400m above sea level on the spectacular Pusuk Pass to see panoramic scenery of Gili (small islands), where curios monkeys will come to see you and expecting some peanuts or other fruits. Driving along the northern coasline of Lombok, you will traverse hilly savanna and tropical rainforest, Sendang Gila waterfall is your next visit, approximately 125mt high, this waterfall is set among the tranquil lush surrounding – the perfect setting of lunch Sembalun Lawang and Bumbung village lie in the quite Sembalun valley, hide on the eastern slope of Mt. Rinjani, here you can discover one of the Sasak ethnic group, with their unique tradition. Tetebatu, just below the mountain, that provides several interesting vistas. Your last stop is the Kingly Garden of Narmada. 

    Day 12 - Lombok – Free at Leisure (B) 

    Breakfast is at the hotel. Free day relax and leisure at the resort or enjoy optional tours. 

    Day 13 - Transfer to Domestic Airport – Fly to Bali – Transfer to hotel (B) 

    After breakfast check out of hotel for your transfer to the Airport to catch your flight to Bali. Arrival in Bali, transfer to your hotel in Sanur. Rest of the day is rest and relax. 

    April 28th - Day 14 - Departure from South Bali to Airport (B) 

    Morning is free at leisure until you are picked up from the hotel at the appropriate time for your departure transfer to airport and catch your international flight back home.

      Hi Clare, the cost of the tour is £1099 is booked by 1st Jan (£1199 thereafter), the domestic flights between Bali & Lombok are around £40, and international flights from the UK are currently around £450-£500 depending on which airline you fly with. Hope this helps. Thanks, Kate
