I’m completely surprised that you would even consider playing tennis outdoors today.
I’m a Tennis Instructor, and the Rule of Thumb I use, which is also the same one most people intuitively follow, is that the combination of outside air temperature, sun, and wind must be the equivalent of 60 degrees outside.
In more detailed terms, the minimum outside air temperature must be no less than 45 degrees, there must be full sun to add another 15 degrees during this time of year, and the wind must be dead calm.
With today’s forecast of a high of 45 degrees in areas near Boston and the coast, full sun, and winds blowing from 15 MPH to 25 MPH, the equivalent outside air temperature today will range from 35 degrees (near-Freezing, YIKES) to 45 degrees. I see that you’re a very Hardy Soul, Gary, but this is just too cold for me and most everyone else.

Subject: [tennis-240] outdoor tennis today?
Gorgeous winter weather! Anyone free to play some outdoor tennis today? I can play anytime before 3pm. I am ~3.5, similar level preferred. Please reply to MY email, not the whole group. Thank you!
