anyone going to, or have thoughts on, AAG in Las Vegas?

Hi all,

Being a believer in total immersion, I recently joined the Association
of American Geographers (AAG) and will be going to their annual
meeting in Las Vegas next week. The website says

"Join 7,000 geographers, GIS specialists, and environmental scientists
from around the world in Las Vegas for the very latest in research,
policy, and applications in geography, sustainability, and GIScience
during the annual conference of the Association of American
Geographers, to be held March 22-27, 2009."

and estimates the number of presentations at 4,000. Four thousand
talks in five days. Unbelievable.

I was curious if any of you meetup-ers are going, or is/was a member
of AAG, or has any thoughts at all about AAG, either on its own merits
or as it intersects with web 2.0 applications and communities. This
discussion list is notoriously short on discussion, but maybe this
question could spark a few posts.

Or feel free to flag me down at tomorrow night's meetup.

Cheers, Eric
