OpenStreetMap's State of the Map US / San Francisco / 7-10 June

Hi everyone,

The annual US-based OpenStreetMap conference will be held in San Francisco this coming June 8 & 9 at UCSF's Mission Bay Conference Center.

The main State of the Map conference will be two days packed with sessions on OpenStreetMap in use in government, education, and international development, discussion around how to implement and build maps with it, and strategies around advancing and using open geo data. There will be hands on workshops the Friday before the conference covering topics like editing OpenStreetMap data, working with OSM in QGIS, and setting up your own tile server. There will be a sprint day following the conference.

What you need to know:

Registration is open and just $75 if you register before April 26. (http://sotmsf.eventbr...)

There's an open call for session proposals. If you're using OpenStreetMap or open data in an interesting way, please submit a proposal. (http://stateofthemap....)

Scholarships are available, along with free admission for volunteers who help with registration and other tasks at the actual conference. If you're local and willing to help, this is a great way to save some cash.

More information about State of the Map is available on the conference website at http://stateofthemap.... and/or follow @sotmus for updates. And feel free to pass this on to anyone else may want to attend!

All best wishes, Eric
