1. Are you a beginner, intermediate, or advanced boarder (or skier)?
I snowboard since 2010/11 season; go as fast as I can.
Sometimes I try to flap when I go fast; but that hasn't helped me fly.

2. Are you willing to teach newbies who want to learn how to snowboard?
Most newbies will either complain that something sucks (a) you, b) the instructions, or c) them, or d) all of the above). My advice: start training at home until you can do hundreds of lunges or squats which will work most of the muscles needed to ride comfortably.

3. What are the best times for you to go up to snow?
weekends

4. Do you have a 4wd/awd or a car with snow tires/chains and are willing to take passengers?
Nope, but I can drive in the south bay to go to meeting point.

5. Do you know of cheap lodging that would be accessible to the group at some point?
Nope, but I like to stay overnights since that save 2x 4hr driving :)

1. Are you a beginner, intermediate, or advanced boarder (or skier)?
Expert boarder & expert skier

2. Are you willing to teach newbies who want to learn how to snowboard?
Yes, I was a full time instructor at Kirkwood for two full winters and still teach there part-time.

3. What are the best times for you to go up to snow?
My schedule is somewhat chaotic but hope to get up whenever I'm free.

4. Do you have a 4wd/awd or a car with snow tires/chains and are willing to take passengers?
My car was acting up the last time I was in Tahoe so I'd prefer to be a passenger. Although I grew up driving in the snow and can share piloting duties. Also know how to drive a stick.

5. Do you know of cheap lodging that would be accessible to the group at some point?
Maybe ... depends on the timing and size of the party.

I know this hasn't been that active of a discussion thread, but I figured I would get my info out there! My name is Megan and I live in Fremont. I work Thursday to Sunday in San Ramon at a Spa and I am also going to school at Devry in Fremont.

1. Are you a beginner, intermediate, or advanced boarder (or skier)?
I am a complete noob to boarding. I own a board, boots, and bindings (got it all for my bday and x-mas 2012) I even went to Reno with my boyfriend with the thoguht of making it to the snow....didn't happen. The most I have practiced would be in my room here at home on the rug, pretending to be boarding!

2. Are you willing to teach newbies who want to learn how to snowboard?
I would love to get instruction from anyone and everyone. I like to think that I learn things really fast and comprehend instruction well. I do have a feeling that I will be falling on my butt quite a bit the first few times that I attempt to board, but doesn't everyone?

3. What are the best times for you to go up to snow?
Right now only Tuesdays, but in March and April it will be Mondays and Tuesdays since I do not have class on campus those days or work. I might be able to swing a Saturday or a Sunday if I have more than enough notice.

4. Do you have a 4wd/awd or a car with snow tires/chains and are willing to take passengers?
I don't have a 4wd or awd, but I do have a Toyota 4-Runner with new tires and I carry chains in the car and yes I am willing to take passengers! The more the merrier!!

5. Do you know of cheap lodging that would be accessible to the group at some point?
The only place I stayed at was The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno and that was cheap! Otherwise not really!

I hope to get a chance to board this season with some or all of you!
Megan
